Think, Attract and Become

"The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to belief that it is possible."
-Richard Devos

Do you know that you can actually become what you don't want to be? No matter how strange it sounds, it's true. In my post; why you don't get what you want, I gave a few reasons why most of us get disappointed and how hard it is to let go of such. It's not just about thinking, but having the thought about what you want at the top of your mind. It's good to live by the day, but don't let nature do all the thinking for you.

To most of us, the terms 'luck' and 'coincidence' are not new. "You're either lucky or you're not" - how true is this? I've often wondered whether these terms exist or they were just given these names because we as humans don't know how they occur.

Everything that happens to you is as a result of your thinking and your state of mind. Most of us would know the saying, "luck is when preparation meets opportunity." When you get that thing you've always wanted, would you say you were lucky getting it or that you deserved it?

There's something I heard over the radio recently which I would share with you in this post. It sounded strange at first and I felt like giving the presenter a piece of my mind. But on second thought, it was true. It completely shows that nothing happens by chance.

Whenever we think of something over a period of time, that thought becomes predominant in our minds. In the physical, it appears as if nothing happens but in the 'other realm', a process starts. That thought becomes like an attractive light and it does only one thing- it looks for ways to satisfy its host who in this case is you.

This is just like the superconscious mind acting on what you have in your subconscious mind. That concept simply means two things;

1. The more you think about something, the more you give that attractive light something to look for. This in turn gives that light more eagerness to find it. Sometimes when I think of someone whom I haven't contacted for some time, it so happens that in a matter of minutes or hours he's standing in front of me and we're shaking hands. I'm sure this occurrence isn't new to you too.

2. You can either think your way to success or failure. The more I think about how bad I am at something, the worse I get. This is often caused by the presence of negative emotions. By thinking more about how good you can be rather than how bad you are, you give that attractive force something positive to look for.

You may not have a business to call your own, but you do know that you are the CEO of the only MULTIDIMENSIONAL company, which is your mind. You either lead it on the path of fulfilment or destruction. If you can think it, you can be it. Just make sure it's strong enough.

What do you think about chance? Do you believe that thinking is enough to achieve success? Your comments are welcome.

  1. The famed Law of Attraction. Funny I saw your post, as we are working on something similar over at the next goal. I subscribe to the idea of thought promoting action, and I think you have presented your information amazingly! Appreciate the read.

We are just starting to get people to guest post on our blog, if you have time, it would certainly be good to hear from you.

  3. Hi Lanre. I do believe in the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction. I think the challenge is remaining positive in the face of difficulties and that we often give up just before the miracle happens.

  4. That's true Mike. Most of us give up just when the miracle is about to happen. Why? This is because that we are blinded by all the negativity around us that we don't even give room for any positivity. It's hard to hold on, but worth it. Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I totally agree that your thoughts create your life. That's why it's so important to rid yourself of negative thoughts. I am currently reading The 21 Day Consciousness Cleanse for that exact reason. Constant negative thoughts are so much more common than positive. They not only come from you, but society, your parents, your experiences, everything. So there are many layers to get through, which is why it takes people so long to "think" their way to success and happiness. But when you stay committed, anything is possible. Great post.

It's always easier to acquire or imitate negative things than the positive ones. That's why it's so easy to fail. Thanks for your comment.

  7. I couldn't agree more! We are what we think and our beliefs (even when they're erroneous) are our reality. That's why it's so important to keep our thoughts (which become our beliefs) on a positive track. Love your blog and I'll be back!

  8. Positive thoughts all the way. I could never be accused of being a negative thinker. Negative thoughts have no home in my head or in my heart. I think that's why I don't worry. Keeping positive keeps the worrying away.

    Good post!

  11. Great post! Our thoughts really do contribute to what we can accomplish

  12. I believe this too. It has happened to me quite a few times where I'm thinking of something and it happened or I was looking for something and I found it. The more you think about something the more you do to achieve it.

Yes JP, what you think is what you get. Would you call that coincidence?

It's a major contributing factor too. Thanks for your comment Adelina.

  15. I do believe in keeping a positive attitude and not listening to negative people. At the same time, I believe that hard work and strategy is really necessary to attain our goals.

  17. Lanre,

I love the quote at the beginning of your post. I also believe we attract what we think about, we also tend to attract what we fear most. I think because the fear vibration is so strong. I remember a little over 10 years ago I was afraid of being out of a job and what would happen. What happened was I was out of a job, but I found out I could survive.

I hear people say that they think about something and don't get it. I have found that people do not really analyze their thoughts, and they many times they actually contradict positive thought with negative ones. For instance they will pray for money but say things like I am always broke. Well the subconscious mind will give you what you believe not what you say. You say you want money, need and deserve it, but you believe you are always broke. It's not just about what you say, but what you really believe even if you don't realize that you believe it.

    Thanks for the great post,
    Happy blogging,
    Jenn

  18. I agree with you that type of thoughts you have affect your life. I would also say that believing that you are good at sth adds self confidence to your actions and makes you succeed. On the other side if you are convinced that you are bad at sth you simply get discouraged. Your post is short but the subject you touched would require a longer debate, which would be very interesting. I wish we could get a group of ppl and explore it further. Thanks for sharing.

I do agree with you. It's not about what you say but what you think. Stronger thought vibrations often come to pass and fear is one of the strongest. I appreciate your comment and thanks for stopping by.

Having negative thoughts makes negative things happen to you. Yes, it's a really wide topic that needs indepth explanation. Thanks for your comment.
